Stars blank Cougars; Fenwick closes out season

The Dominican University men’s soccer team shut out neighborhood rival Concordia University Chicago 4-0 on Wednesday. 

The Stars’ Leo Elizalde scored the eventual game-winner in the 21st minute. Senior Mike Kapusta, Lio Tovar and Nick Kulas also scored for the Stars, who outshot the Cougars 21-3. 

Dominican remains undefeated on the season with a 14-0-1 overall record.

Fenwick soccer 

The 2010 season came to an end for the Fenwick High School boys soccer team with a 5-4 loss in penalty kicks to ninth-seeded Hinsdale South in the semifinals of the Class 3A Hinsdale South Regional on Wednesday.

The game went into four overtime periods.

The Friars, who return six starters next season, finished 3-3 in the Chicago Catholic League and 11-9-1 overall on the season.
