TV Tune Out and Tune IN to Community is a great opportunity to shut off your screen machines and reconnect with your community!  How would life be enhanced if you reduced your family's use of tvs, computers, video games, cell phones? 

A few years ago (when this event was called National TV Turn Off Week), River Forest kids were asked, “What did you and your family do when you turned off your tv?”  Some of their responses are below. Do any of these ideas inspire you?      

• Played catch with Dad
• Walked the dog
• Told stories and read books
• Visited relatives
• Made jewelry
• Read more books
• Painted the sidewalk
• Made cookies
• Looked for birds
• Picked weeds
• Sang in church
• Listened to music
• Ate ice cream
• Got an allergy shot
• Baked cream puffs
• Entertained a priest (My personal favorite!)
